Westlake Fundraiser Raises Nearly $5,000
August 07, 2022
For more than a decade, the Tennis Club at Westlake Golf and Country Club, an adult-community in Jackson, NJ, has planned fundraising events each July to support Autism New Jersey. Their day of events — a tennis tournament, banquet, dinner dance, and raffle — raised more than $100,000 over the years and was a much-anticipated social event within their community.
Due to the pandemic, the event was put on hiatus. Still, the committee, led by Howard Lazan and Steve Friedlander, wanted to continue raising money to support the autism community.
In lieu of the dinner dance, this year, they organized a 50/50 fundraiser for the Westlake community and also raised donations from sponsors who previously supported the event.
Their efforts brought in $4,826!
We so appreciate the group’s resilience and longstanding commitment to autism, not wanting to abandon a beloved fundraising activity.
Thank you to Howard and his wife Toby and Steve and his wife Arlene (pictured above with Chrissy Toth, Coordinator of Special Events and Community Relations) for their dedication and support.
We look forward to dancing with you next year in person!
Community support is key to our success, and we recognize the efforts it takes from our supporters to organize and hold an event on our behalf.
