Study: Caregiver-Child Interactions

July 24, 2024

Researchers from the University of Kansas will review the effects of the Help Is In Your Hands online video modules on caregiver-child interactions for children 12-36 months waiting for an autism assessment. The modules will be studied for effects on interactions alone, or with teaching for caregivers. It is anticipated some families will learn new strategies for supporting their children with the videos alone and some will require teaching. The goal is promoting synchronous engagement between child and caregiver.

Participation Requirements:

  • Internet access, video capabilities on a computer or tablet
  • Children (12-36 mos.) not yet diagnosed with autism but referred and waiting for an autism assessment
