Respect. Joy.  Hope.  These sentiments were on full-display on t-shirts sold by the staff of  NeurAbilities Healthcare as a fundraiser to benefit Autism New Jersey that raised $1,500 during April.

Staff throughout the organization with locations in New Jersey and neighboring Pennsylvania purchased t-shirts not only to support a cause they are passionate about, but to promote autism acceptance with these positive messages.

“As service providers for those with neurodevelopmental delays, our staff is passionate about supporting the autism community through the lifespan,” said Kathleen Stengel, CEO of NeurAbilities. “Each day, our team sees how people with autism of every age offer unique and valuable contributions.”

Stengel noted that, while funding and service opportunities exist for children with autism, there is a lack of resources for adults with autism.  Which is why the clinic team collectively decided to raise money for Autism New Jersey in support of its advocacy for adults with autism.

“People with autism have tremendous unmet needs — especially those with severe behavioral challenges and those who are aging out of their educational entitlements,” said Autism New Jersey Executive Director Dr. Suzanne Buchanan. “This donation from the NeurAbilities staff is critical to support our efforts to build a full continuum of specialized care for every stage of life.”

Thank you for your dedication NeurAbilities!
