For members of Autism New Jersey’s Law Enforcement Advisory Committee (LEAC), fatherhood has been one of the most meaningful influences on how they lead, communicate, and connect with others.
Many LEAC members are fathers, and several have children with autism spectrum disorder, bringing personal insight to the committee’s work supporting safer, more informed interactions between law enforcement and the autism community.
In recognition of Father’s Day, LEAC members reflect on the patience, empathy, and understanding that guide both parenthood and policing.
Patience. Compassion. Calm under pressure. The ability to truly listen.
Those lessons learned at home strengthen the work these leaders do every day.
Autism New Jersey is grateful for their commitment to building safer, more understanding communities for individuals with autism and their families.
