Governor Announces Disability Information Hub

August 14, 2024

Together the Governor, Department of Human Services, and Office of Innovation recently released an exciting new resource for families of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Disability Information Hub is a tool that offers quick access to critical information on services, supports, and resources.

The Disability Hub represents a tremendous amount of work from the Department of Human Services and The Office of Innovation. Built with input from individuals with disabilities, family members, and advocacy organizations from all across the state, the Hub has a variety of ways it presents its information and resources. It has a dedicated page focused on essential needs, as well as links addressing healthcare, mental health, assistive technology, transportation, legal needs and advocacy, employment, and emergency planning.

The Disability Hub also organizes its resources by stage of life and by disability community. Its page on Intellectual and Developmental Disability Services is informative and concise, delivering clarity to and saving time for individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals that support them.

The creation of this Disability Hub is a great service to New Jersey’s autism community. It will decrease barriers to valuable services, help individuals with autism more easily navigate state systems, and empower them and their families.
