According to a press release issued yesterday, the “Murphy Administration today announced that the New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA) is now accepting applications for the Behavioral Healthcare Provider Loan Redemption Program. Board Certified Behavior Analysts are among the professionals eligible for up to $180,000 of student loan balance repayment in exchange for service to communities.
- For every two years of service in New Jersey, behavioral healthcare providers can apply for up to $50,000 in loan redemption for a total of $150,000 over six years.
- In addition, behavioral healthcare providers who work primarily with children and adolescents may also be eligible to receive supplemental incentive grants of up to $5,000 annually for up to six years, resulting in an additional $30,000.
“We applaud the Murphy Administration’s tangible investment in the behavioral healthcare workforce, a longstanding Autism New Jersey priority, said Executive Director, Suzanne Buchanan, Psy.D., BCBA-D. Dr. Buchanan continued, “With the enactment of the Applied Behavior Analyst Licensure Act and now this loan redemption program, we are making real progress in supporting and expanding the behavioral health workforce essential to increasing access to care and better quality of life for individuals with autism.”
