Autism New Jersey is pleased to welcome Leslie Ramirez as our new Community Engagement Coordinator. In this role, she will strengthen outreach to communities statewide, with a particular focus on supporting individuals and families who are underserved due to income, race, and language barriers.

“Engaging with and supporting the entire autism community, especially those who are unsafe and underinformed, are top priorities for Autism New Jersey,” said Executive Director Dr. Suzanne Buchanan. She continued, “Leslie’s compassion runs deep and drives her collaborative nature. She will be listening and learning from families in underserved communities and connecting with trusted community leaders to ensure all families have access to autism information and support.”

Leslie brings years of experience in providing bilingual case management services and family advocacy and has a strong passion for building and maintaining community partnerships. She has supported individuals experiencing mental health and behavioral challenges and is committed to helping families navigate complex systems of care.

Leslie earned her bachelor’s degree in social work and is currently completing her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. Outside of work, Leslie enjoys traveling, trying new foods, fitness, and spending time with her family and Labrador retriever.

“I am thrilled to join Autism New Jersey,” Leslie said. “I am motivated by a commitment to meaningful service and informed by my past experience working directly with families. I am excited to help individuals and families find the information, resources, and encouragement they need to thrive within their communities.”
