Autism New Jersey is proud to share our latest publication, Residential Program Quality Indicators: A Guide for Families. Caregivers can use this guide and companion interview tool to meaningfully evaluate their options when selecting a residential program for their adult child with autism.
This publication reflects Autism New Jersey’s ongoing commitment to ensuring high-quality programming and services for adults with autism.
“Choosing a residential program for a loved one is one of the most important and difficult decisions a family will face,” said Jon Gottlieb, Esq., Helpline & Family Advocacy Director for Autism New Jersey. “Families don’t have to do this alone. We are here for them every step of the way.”

“One thing that keeps me up at night is wondering where our daughter, who has autism and will soon turn 18, will live as an adult. Will she be happy? Will she be safe? Will she be cared for? As a mother, it’s hard to imagine anyone caring for your child the way you do. But I also know the day will come when my husband and I can no longer do it alone,” said Sandy LoPiccolo, parent and Autism New Jersey Board member.
“As we begin navigating the complexities of adult life and future residential options for our daughter, it’s incredibly comforting to know Autism New Jersey is in our corner, providing families like ours with guidance, support and trusted resources,” LoPiccolo said.
