Autism New Jersey Board Welcomes Tim Kane

August 04, 2023

Autism New Jersey is thrilled to welcome Tim Kane of Ridgewood, New Jersey to our Board of Trustees! Kane brings to the board more than 40 years of experience in sports broadcasting and operations through his career as an Emmy Award-winning television producer. Demonstrating his dedication to his work, Kane has been a producer for the National Basketball Association (NBA) for 33 years, currently serving as the Senior Director of Broadcast Operations and Production. Kane, a graduate of Princeton University, previously worked as a producer for ESPN Sportscenter.

“I am honored to welcome Tim to the Board. Tim brings with him decades of sports video production experience and a passion that only a personal connection to the autism community can inspire,” said Board President Kristie Sells. “We are excited to have his presence and leadership among our ranks and I look forward to working with him.”

In addition to his award-winning television production career, Kane has been a stalwart advocate for the autism community, volunteering his time as a board member for the EPIC School Foundation, part of the NBA’s national liaison to Autism Speaks, and serving for more than a decade as a committee member for Autism New Jersey’s Annual Golf Outing. The outing, on September 11, 2023, at Fiddler’s Elbow Country Club is celebrating 25 years.

Most importantly, Kane’s lived experience as the father of a son with autism will bring invaluable insight to Autism New Jersey’s board and ensure that we continue to keep individuals with autism and their families at the forefront of our advocacy work.

“Autism New Jersey is such an amazing organization, and I am extremely honored to join the Board of Trustees. When our son, Jack was diagnosed 21 years ago, our first call was to Autism New Jersey’s 800.4.AUTISM Helpline and we still call with questions! I am grateful to the Board of Trustees for this special invitation, and I promise to bring energy, enthusiasm, and empathy to everything we encounter, helping thousands of families in New Jersey”.

We look forward to working with Tim Kane to advance Autism New Jersey’s mission to ensure safe and fulfilling lives for individuals with autism, their families, and the professionals who support them.
