**CALL FOR PAPERS IS NOW CLOSED – PLEASE ONLY SUBMIT VIA THIS FORM IF YOU HAVE BEEN EXPLICITLY DIRECTED TO DO SO BY A STAFF MEMBER FROM AUTISM NEW JERSEY**

October 24 & 25, 2024  |  Atlantic City, NJ

Autism New Jersey is seeking submissions for our 42nd Annual Conference to be held at Harrah’s in Atlantic City on October 24-25, 2024. The Call for Papers is open through March 4, 2024.

The conference will be an in-person event with some virtual elements . We expect attendance to exceed 1,200 as it has every year for decades.

Proposals Sought

We are seeking proposals that address a wide range of abilities and support needs across the lifespan, attendee types (e.g., behavior analysts, teachers, social workers, speech-language pathologists, graduate students, parents), and difficulty levels from beginner to advanced. Proposals should include evidence-based practices supplemented by real-life examples.

In addition, attendee feedback from 2023 indicated that the following topic areas are some of the ones with high interest and ones that we are actively seeking for this year’s conference:

  1. Academics/academic interventions
  2. Language and social skills
  3. Transition/vocational skills
  4. Healthcare and medical
  5. DEI/ethics
  6. Adults (especially residential and DSP considerations)
  7. Autistic perspectives and advocacy

Review Process

Each proposal will be reviewed, and notification of approval status will be provided by April 1, 2024. Workshops are 75 minutes, and two-part workshops (150 minutes total) will be considered. First-time presenters with Autism New Jersey may submit only one application and must include additional documentation of their appropriateness to present at the conference. In general, each workshop should be limited to one or two presenters. Those wishing to submit a panel presentation should contact conference@autismnj.org in advance of submitting a proposal.

Before You Begin

Due to the extensive requirements of the various continuing education (CE) boards we work with (BACB, ASHA, APA, NASW), we recommend reviewing the content you’ll need to submit before beginning. [Please note: that link is only for previewing the questions. The actual application is below.] If at any time you would like to save your form and complete it later, please click the ‘save and continue’ button at the bottom of the form and follow the directions on the next screen. You will be provided with a link to access your unsubmitted proposal.
