How many people usually attend?

Approximately 1,300 people attended the last few in-person conferences. Our virtual conferences in 2020 and 2021 drew approximately 1,100. We expect a similar attendance this October.

Who typically attends?

Our audience includes educational and human service professionals, parents of children and adults with autism, and self-advocates. Professional attendees include special and general education teachers, direct support professionals, behavior analysts, psychologists, social workers and speech pathologists.

Is financial assistance available? 

Yes, if you are a parent/caregiver of an individual with autism or an individual with autism. The Anthony E. Meyer Conference Scholarship Fund is available to supplement what you can pay (if anything). Funds are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. The fund only covers registration, not travel, dinner, or hotels. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship, please contact conference@autismnj.org.

Venue and Accommodations

Are there hotel discounts?

Book online or call  888.516.2215 and request the Autism New Jersey Conference rate or code “SH10AN2”. Our group rate is $84 per night. All rooms in the block will be in the Waterfront and Bayview Towers closest to the conference center.

What is the address of the conference center?

Who can I speak with about accommodations I may require to be able to attend the conference? 

If you require any specific accommodations to participate in the conference or food restrictions/accommodations, please contact conference@autismnj.org as soon as possible.

Do you validate parking at the conference center?   

Unfortunately, we are not able to do so. However, if you stay at Harrah’s through our conference rate, Basic and Waterfront Tower options both include a $5 parking voucher for one (1) vehicle per night. Approximate pricing is $10/day for self-parking and $15/day for valet.

Are meals included with registration?

Yes, a continental breakfast and boxed lunch will be available to each registrant each day.

Is early check-in available for the conference?

If you arrive on Wednesday between 4:00pm – 6:00pm, check in then and avoid the morning lines! [Please note: conference check-in will close promptly at 6:00pm.]

How do I register for the conference?

What is the registration deadline?

Online registration will close at 5:00 PM on Friday, October 14th. After that, only onsite registrations will be accepted. Please allow for extra time to register onsite.

How much are CEUs?

They’re free!

Can I register online with a purchase order? 

Yes, you can do so through our check and purchase order registration form. Valid check or purchase order number as well as names and email addresses for all attendees are required to submit, so be sure that you have this information ready before starting the form.

Can I register multiple people at once? 

Yes, the registration form can accommodate registering up to ten (10) people at once.

I think my employer will pay for my registration. Can you bill me? 

No, but we can provide a receipt that you can submit to your employer for reimbursement.

I am a current Autism New Jersey Member, or my employer is a current Autism New Jersey Organization Member. Can I register online at the member rate?  

Yes, Silver and Gold individual members as well as organization member designated contacts will receive an email with a code to register at the member rate. If you are a current member and have not received this email, please contact conference@autismnj.org. If you are unsure of your or your organization’s membership status, please contact  membership@autismnj.org.

Can my registration be refunded ?

Before October 1st, yes. Refunds will be provided for written requests to conference@autismnj.org. After that, substitutions for those who qualify at the same rate will be accepted.

NJ Department of Education (NJ DOE) Professional Development (PD) Hours

How many DOE professional development hours can I earn?

Only workshops with the blue “NJ DOE PD” icon qualify for professional development, and you can search for these as a track.

On-Demand Track: Forty-one (41) workshops from our 20-21 Encore Track and nineteen (19) 2022 workshops from our On-Demand track qualify for NJ DOE PD. With over 60 workshops to choose from, you can earn more than 70 NJ DOE PD hours for workshops viewed anytime between November 2022 and January 2023.

2022 On-Demand Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.25 DOE PD for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 75 minutes.

2021 Encore Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.0 DOE PD for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 50-60 minutes.

2020 Encore Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.25 DOE PD for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 75 minutes.

Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)

How many BACB CEU credits can I earn?

Only workshops with the green “BACB CE” icon qualify for BACB CEUs, and you can search for these as a track. For your convenience, there are also “BACB CE – Ethics” and “BACB CE – Supervision” tracks.

On-Demand Track: Thirty-two (32) workshops from our 20-21 Encore Track and fifteen (15) 2022 workshops from our On-Demand track qualify for BACB CEUs. With over 40 workshops to choose from, you can earn more than 60 CEUs for workshops viewed anytime between November 2022 and January 2023.

2022 On-Demand Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.5 BACB CEU for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 75 minutes.

2021 Encore Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.0 BACB CEU for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 50-60 minutes.

2020 Encore Workshops: Attendees will earn 1.5 BACB CEU for every qualifying workshop they watch in its entirety. Each workshop is 75 minutes.

BACB and NJDOE Certificates

Certificates will be provided 2-3 weeks after the virtual platform closes on January 31, 2023. Contact conference@autismnj.org if you need your certificate sooner.

Included are select 2022 workshop recordings and most 2021 and 2020 workshop recordings.

What is the virtual conference platform?

“Whova” is our virtual conference platform. Watch Whova’s How To Guide to help you make the most of your experience. It can be used during both the in-person days and the three months of virtual access.

Do I need a specific web app on my device to participate?

Just Whova! Whova can be viewed on any desktop, laptop, or mobile device. Whova’s mobile app runs both on Android and iPhone. Search “Whova” in the App Store on your iPhone or in Google Play on your Android phone.

If you are using Whova on your desktop, you do not need to have any specific programs installed; you will just need to be connected to the internet.

Can I customize my own workshop schedule?

Yes, you can use the agenda to browse workshop descriptions and speaker information. You are able to filter by tracks and add preferred workshops to your schedule to start building your custom conference experience based on your unique needs and priorities.

Where can I find information on sponsorship and advertising?

Sponsorship and advertising marketing options are now available! Our options cover a variety of price points and benefits. Having your logo (or more) in our e-blasts, website, event platform, and social media is a powerful way to draw attention to your organization!

Our in-person event typically has 90 exhibitors in attendance.

Networking

Are there networking opportunities?

Yes, there are many networking opportunities during both the in-person and virtual events. The layout and schedule of our in-person event gives ample time for attendees to browse the booths, network, and exchange information. The virtual platform offers “ice breakers” to meet new people, search for those with similar interests, and engage on community boards.
